Jada Khosla, MD

Teaching Collaborator

I am Dr. Jada Turco Khosla, a Psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience, dual board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine. My journey into medicine was driven by a profound interest in the interconnectedness of medical and psychological health, aiming to address the "whole person."

Before medical school, I trained at the Vermont Institute of Massage Therapy and became certified as a Massage Therapist and Reiki practitioner. I pursued my medical education at UVM Robert Larner, MD College of Medicine, followed by residency training at NYU School of Medicine. During residency, I collaborated on developing a pioneering program in Reproductive Psychiatry under Dr. Shari Lusskin's mentorship, focusing on perinatal mental health.

My dedication to holistic healing led me to training at the NYU Mind Body Medicine Program and New York Insight Meditation Center, emphasizing mindfulness approaches in healing. I continued to expand my expertise through various integrative and holistic healing programs, committing to lifelong learning.

Post-residency, I served as an attending physician at Bellevue Hospital and as associate faculty at NYU School of Medicine. My roles included Associate Medical Director and interim Medical Director of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program, where I managed complex psychiatric cases and crisis interventions, including work with 9/11 first responders and survivors of torture.

Transitioning to outpatient care, I co-founded the Center for Integrative Psychiatry in NYC, combining integrative models with traditional psychiatric treatment. I developed and taught curricula in Integrative Psychiatry for NYU SOM residents, focusing on women's health, reproductive psychiatry, adolescent mental health, and community psychiatry.

As an advocate for mental health awareness and destigmatization, I am involved with the #SameHere alliance, aiming to reduce stigma and improve access to mental health services. My practice integrates psychiatric diagnosis, mood disorder management, psychopharmacology, and Trans Magnetic Stimulation, blending insights from general medicine, psychopharmacology, nutritional neuroscience, and mind-body medicine.

Recently, I returned to Vermont with my family, finding solace in nature and pursuing interests in reading, outdoor activities, gardening, hiking, yoga, cooking, and baking. My deep connection to nature and spirit continues to inspire my holistic approach to psychiatry, fostering healing and well-being in those I serve.
