Teaching Collaborator
I’m Guazabara Rivera, and I am a versatile Healthcare Leader. I am a Clinical Bioethicist, Adjunct Professor, Plant Biology PhD student and Hospital Administrator with a Focus on Ethical Practices and Science Integrations. I bring together Indigenous knowledge and modern healthcare to support compassionate elder care and community wellness. As a Clinical Bioethicist and Hospital Administrator, I focus on ethical decision-making and care for those in need. I volunteer as a Chairperson and Clinical Bioethicist for the New York State Justice Center’s Surrogate Decision-Making Committee.
I’m currently a PhD student in Plant Biology at Rutgers University, studying human natural products. I also teach at Stony Brook School of Medicine and BMCC, blending academic learning with real-world experience. My education includes a Post-Baccalaureate from Cornell University in Nutritional Sciences and a Master’s in Medical Humanities, Compassionate Care, and Bioethics.
I’m deeply rooted in my cultural heritage as a Nitaino Taino Tribal Council Member of Iukaieke Guainia, where I serve as a ceremonial facilitator. Additionally, as an Ayurvedic therapist and pre- and post-natal specialist, I weave together traditional healing practices with my background in healthcare to promote holistic well-being in my community.
